a lifetime of service.

Soldier. Prosecutor. Judge. Treasurer.

For Mark Metcalf, public service has never been about a title. It's about responsibility.

Mark has spent his career serving Kentucky and his country — as a prosecutor, county attorney, judge, soldier and now Kentucky State Treasurer.

Mark served President George W. Bush at the U.S. Justice Department, representing the Department in election reform matters, prosecuting alien smugglers, and as a judge on the U.S. Immigration Court in Miami, Florida.

Mark is a combat veteran of Iraq, serving nearly 30 years in the Kentucky Army National Guard.  He retired as a lieutenant colonel in 2020.

Mark was elected to six terms as Garrard County Attorney, was named Kentucky's Outstanding County Attorney, ran an award-winning child support office, served as a state and federal prosecutor, and twice represented Kentucky before the United States Supreme Court.

Today, as Kentucky's 42nd State Treasurer, Mark brings those same values
to Frankfort:

Duty. Accountability. Service. Respect.

Mark and his wife, Julie, live in Lancaster and are lifelong Kentuckians.
